Thursday, July 30, 2009 (532 reads)

Kannapolis - Kannapolis City Schools is trying to start a computer refurbishing program that would serve students and the community.  "Our students would be trained after school to recycle and refurbish computers," said Tiffane Maltba, an organizer of the new program.  According to Maltba, computers that could be refurbished would be given away free or at minimal cost to needy community members.  Computers that were too antiquated to be restored would be recycled.  "Businesses and individuals could donate computers, which would be a huge benefit because people often have to pay to recycle their old machines," Maltba added.  In order to help launch the program and introduce it to the community, organizers are hosting a luncheon next week.
